Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education was introduced in 1910 under the Department of Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, and India. It offered the Oriental School Leaving Certificate (OSLC) stream and the Matriculation streams. The Board of School Examination organizes secondary (class 10) and higher secondary (class 12) Examination, which functions under the Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination.
