This course focuses on the use of digital technology in creative film-making, offering a blend of film and media theory, creative practical film-making and technical instruction. LSBU’s Digital Media Arts Facility includes Apple Mac Final Cut Pro and Avid editing suites. You will also shoot on location using DV and mini-DV cameras.

You will learn how to originate video script ideas, shoot and digitally edit your own work, and output it to DVD. In your final year you are encouraged to produce your own showreel. Student films have been screened at the London Time Out Student Film Festival and the New York Film Festival.

Careers
This course is designed for those who want to go in to the areas of feature and documentary film production, commercial video, video art, post-production, video-editing and directing, within the advertising, television, film and online industries. Graduates have gone on to jobs with the BBC, post-production facilities, and film and video production companies.

The aim of this course is to provide you will all the tools necessary to become an expert in the new and exciting field of digital photography. The degree will equip you with a thorough knowledge of the technologies involved in the production of digital images. We will teach you how to use a range of image scanning devices and software programmes, along with digital printing and output to screen based media. You will also learn about other areas of Media Studies, such as video, writing, hypermedia and digital art, and explore the ways in which they integrate with photography.

This course prepares you for a wide range of careers in the field of digital imaging, including independent photographic practice, work for web/video production companies, colour management/retouching services, fashion, reportage and editorial photography.
