The College of Visual Arts welcomes applications from first-year, transfer, and second-degree prospective students interested in a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in art and design. All applications for admission are evaluated on the basis of portfolio review, statement of interest essay, and records of academic aptitude and performance. Admissions decisions are individualized and take into account all aspects of the applicant’s background.

Now is the time to apply for the fall 2009 semester! Apply online.
We recommend that applicants complete all of the admissions requirements by the end of January. This allows plenty of time to hear back from us, and if eligible, compete for CVA scholarship. Accepted students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 are encouraged to compete. The CVA Scholarship Deadline is March 1.

When to Apply

It is recommended that you apply as early as possible to ensure enrollment in all your classes.
Apply all year round to enroll in classes for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
The Academy accepts applications through the first week of each semester.
You may apply up to two years before you plan to enroll at the Academy.
Prospective Students in the Military

If you are in the US Armed Forces, either active or as a reserve, your Academy of Art University application fee will be waived. If you get called back to active duty during the middle of the semester or if you’re active now and your military responsibilities do not allow you to continue studying, you will be eligible for a full refund of your tuition and fees paid during the semester.

The Admissions Office is responsible for the recruitment of prospective students as well as the processing of all applications and documents that applicants submit for acceptance. Admissions counselors are available by appointment to meet with prospective students and their families to give assistance with the admissions process, answer any questions pertaining to the programs offered at CCM, and assist members of the community with pursing their goal of higher education.
