Photographic Degree at Temple University

Photographic images are central in our culture. The presence and impact of photography is evident in contemporary art practice, as can be seen by the quality and volume of photography exhibited in galleries and museums, as well as in new web-based art forums. The level of technical and conceptual sophistication in the photography and digital imaging programs at Tyler exposes the student to many career opportunities.

Dear Photography Area Tyler Alumni,

It is an exciting and busy time for us at Tyler! The move to the new building on Temple’s Main Campus is upon us, and with it comes the promise of a new era for the future of the school. After so many years of planning for this move, we finally have occupancy of the new facility.

We want to mark this momentous time with a final celebratory event, a postcard exhibition and a closing reception, that says goodbye to our Elkins Park Campus and hello to the new Tyler.

We invite you to be a part of this exhibition by sending a postcard sized image of your work, to be received no later than December 1, 2008. These postcard images will be for sale at a set price of $25.00 during the closing on Friday, December 12, 2008, first come first choice. At 8 pm, you can take any image which you purchase during the reception off of the wall to add to your art collection. All proceeds from the sale of work will be donated to the Photography area and its new space. Please rsvp if you will be able to attend on the 12th.
