Course summary: The course is largely practice-based and encourages the exploration of the photograph within a range of contemporary practices.

Entry requirements: Standard entry requirements apply. A typical offer would be around 180-240 UCAS tariff points or a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, National Diploma in Photography, or equivalent. Applicants who do not meet our standard requirements but who are able to demonstrate an appropriate level of ability will be considered. Students with HND Photography or equivalent, seeking direct entry onto level two or three will be considered.Applicants are invited for interview with a portfolio of their work.

Location: Avenue Campus

Assessment: Theory, through essays, assignments, a dissertation and presentations which are all items of coursework. Practice through studio presentations and exhibitions.

MA Photography at University Of Plymouth

Aim of the programme

MA Photography and the Book is a unique award that offers you the opportunity to develop your photographic practice, knowledge and understanding through the resolution of individual projects where the dominant but not exclusive form of dissemination is a book or bookwork.

It is also intended to provide those with an editorial or curatorial photographic practice with the opportunity to develop and resolve original projects in book forms.

The programme has an ethos of experimentation, creativity, risk-taking, research and authorship which, combined with extended practice, leads to the development of a critical and theoretical understanding of the medium of photography.

Master of Fine Arts at University Of Waterloo

Full-time students will require five consecutive terms to complete this program, which begins in the fall term. It is expected and required that students reside in the Waterloo area during their period of active enrollment and make regular use of the studios provided.

The Fine Arts Department offers an MFA program on a part-time basis to a limited number of students. Part-time students are not eligible for Teaching Assistantships, Scholarship support, or the Shantz Summer Internships. The part-time MFA program takes a minimum of 6 terms to complete; the maximum is 15 terms. Please contact the Fine Arts Graduate Officer for further details.

Fees For Photography at RMIT University

Fees

There are a limited number of fee waiver places available to local students applying for a place in a research program. Applicants who do not receive an offer of a fee waiver place may be offered a full-fee place in the program.

All candidates are expected to complete their program within the maximum candidature time permitted for the program.

Postgraduate research scholarships
Applications for the following scholarships, which provide a living allowance, are open to Australian citizens and permanent residents of Australia who have completed four years of undergraduate study (or equivalent) at a high level of achievement:
Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA); and
RMIT Research Scholarships.

The scholarships are available for full-time research for up to two years for a Master degree and three years for a PhD. They are also available to students who are studying part-time, but there are restrictions on the allocation of part-time awards.

Scholarship applications must reach the Higher Degrees Unit by no later than 31 October of the year preceding the one for which the scholarship is being sought.

Entrance Requirements

Research programs
Minimum entry requirements exist for Master by Research and Doctoral programs at RMIT. While these are the minimum, due to the often competitive nature of research places preference may be given to those applicants holding higher than the minimum eligibility requirements.

Master
A first degree of RMIT with at least a credit average in the final undergraduate year; or a qualification deemed equivalent by RMIT to a first degree of RMIT with at least a credit average in the final undergraduate year; or evidence of experience which satisfies RMIT that the applicant has developed knowledge of the field of study sufficient to undertake the proposed program.

PhD
