PHO 181 COMMUNICATION PHOTOGRAPHY (3)
Fundamentals of photographic communication. Camera handling, composition, lighting, photo series, and captions for appropriate images. Adjustable camera required. No darkroom work involved. Letter grade only. Course fee required.
PHO 199 SPECIAL TOPICS (1-3)
Foundations of intellectual inquiry. In-depth study of a substantive problem. Letter grade only. May be repeated for up to 6 hours of credit.

PHO 382 REPRODUCTION PROCESSES FOR PUBLICATION (3)
Electronic and photolithographic techniques used in photographic reproduction. Studies halftone photography, color separations, digital imaging, and computer manipulation. Letter grade only. Course fee required. Prerequisite: PHO 281
PHO 383 COLOR PHOTOGRAPHY (3)

PHO 408 FIELDWORK EXPERIENCE (1-12)Supervised field experience in an appropriate agency or organization. Department consent required. Pass-fail only. Course fee required.
PHO 466 LEGISLATIVE INTERNSHIP (1-12)
Supervised internship in the Arizona Legislature during spring term. Students are selected on a competitive basis, and you must apply during the fall term. (To be eligible, you must be a candidate for a bachelor’s degree, have completed all lower-division requirements, and have attained senior status at the end of the fall term preceding the internship.) Course enrollment is handled by the associate provost for academic administration after the legislature has made its final selection. Pass-fail only. Department consent required.
PHO 481 PHOTOJOURNALISM (3)
Practical application of news and feature photography for mass media. In-depth photographic reporting and illustration in color; picture editing; digital imaging techniques; layout and design. Letter grade only. Course fee required. Prerequisite: PHO 381

PHO 485 UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH (1-6)
