Financial Aid Photography at Northwest College of Art Washington

Many of Northwest College of Art’s students receive financial assistance from one source or another. You need to apply for financial aid before we can tell you exactly what you will qualify for. It is the responsibility of the student to complete all forms correctly and in a timely manner. Allow at least two months for financial aid to be processed. Errors, omissions and corrections will cause delays.

A packet of materials will be mailed upon the student’s acceptance to the college. To see if you qualify for financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Please call Heidi Townsend at (360) 779-9993 or e-mail her for additional information.
The NCA Federal school code is — 026021

Eligibility Requirements For Financial Aid
You must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
You must be registered with the Selective Service if you are male and between 18 to 25 years of age.
You must maintain satisfactory progress as defined by Northwest College of Art.
You must not owe a refund on a federal grant or be in default on a federal education loan.
You must have “financial need” as determined by the U.S. Department of Education.
Grant Programs
Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)

The student may apply for ACG by Completing the FAFSA. The federal grant program is only available to needy 1st and 2nd year college students who successfully completed a “qualifying rigorous course of study” in high school. For students to be eligible for ACG they must qualify for Federal Pell Grant, be a U.S. citizen (eligible non-citizens do not qualify), and attending school full-time in their 1st and 2nd years in a post-secondary degree program. ACG is a grant and, like the Pell grant, does not carry repayment provisions like loan programs.
Federal Pell Grant

The student may apply for a Federal Pell Grant by completing the FAFSA. This grant program is designed to assist needy students who desire to continue their education beyond high school. Eligibility is determined by the student’s need, the cost of education and the amount of money appropriated by Congress to fund the program. Federal Pell Grants are grants and do not carry repayment provisions like loan programs.
Federal Work Study

NCA does not currently participate in Federal Work Study.
State Grants

The Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board administers these state aid programs for resident students. Students must have applied for a Federal Pell Grant using the FAFSA form. Family income and assets are a factor for eligibility. The Washington State Need Grant and other state aid programs are available to students who qualify. NCA does not currently participate in State Work Study. For more information on State grants log onto: www.hecb.wa.gov.
Loan Programs
Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan

The Stafford Loan is a need-based loan. The federal government subsidizes the interest while you are in school. If you are eligible, you can borrow up to your full need but not more than $3,500 for the first academic year, $4,500 for the second academic year, and $5,500 for the third and fourth academic years. Repayment is deferred until six months after graduation, withdrawal, or dismissal from school.
Federal PLUS Loan

The Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (FPLUS) provides loans up to the cost of education less other financial aid to qualifying parents of undergraduate students. Repayment starts sixty days after the loan is fully disbursed. FPLUS is an option for parents of students who may not qualify for other forms of aid or to provide additional funding for those who need other assistance.
Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan

The Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan provides up to $6,000 for 1st and 2nd year students and $7,000 for 3rd and 4th year students who do not qualify for all or part of the funds available under the Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan Program. Funds from this loan program may be borrowed in addition to the funds available through the Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan. You may defer payments on this loan until six months after you graduate, withdraw, or are dismissed from the school. You are responsible for the interest accruing on an unsubsidized loan.
NOTE: You do not need to complete the FAFSA if the following apply:
You do not want to see if you qualify for need-based aid (i.e. Pell grant, State grants).
You do not want to apply for low-interest federal education loans (i.e. Stafford, FPLUS).
You intend to apply only for private (non-federal) education loans.
You intend to make only tuition cash payments.

Private Loan Programs

Private loans are available through various lenders. These are flexible loan programs, which can either supplement federal programs or be used as a sole means of financing college costs. Loan limits are greater than those available for the Federal Family Education Loan Program. Private loan borrowers can defer repayment while in school at least half time. Normally, repayment begins six months after the student graduates, leaves school, or drops to less than half time. Most of the private loans offer flexible repayment terms with no repayment penalty. Students are usually required to have a creditworthy co-applicant. Loan fees and terms are outlined in each individual lenders brochure. The following are some lenders who offer private, undergraduate education loans:
Private loans available:
Wells Fargo—Collegiate Loan
Key Bank—Key Alternative Loan
Sallie Mae—Signature Loan
US Bank—No Fee or GAP education loans
Wachovia—Zero Fee Education Loan
Campus Door—Alternative Loan
Citibank—CitiAssist Undergraduate Loan

Loan applications are available online at the lenders’ websites. Paper applications may be requested by contacting the lender, or NCA’s financial aid office.

How much financial aid will I receive?

Most financial aid is based on individual economic circumstances. We determine these by analyzing the financial information you provide on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.

We compute the difference between the total cost of your education and the amount (based on the federally required calculation) that you and your family are expected to contribute. Once this is calculated, we can determine the amount of financial aid for which you are eligible.

How do I know if I am eligible for financial aid?

1. We estimate the cost of your education. Your costs are broken down into direct and indirect costs.

Examples of direct costs include:
Tuition
Fees
Some school supplies

Indirect costs include:
Food
Transportation to and from school
Personal expenses and supplies

Housing expenses can be considered direct or indirect costs, depending on your living arrangements. The Housing Services Office can provide you with information on school-sponsored housing, as well as independent apartments.

We consider both direct and indirect costs when helping you budget adequate financial support during your enrollment at the school. Standard budget figures (available for review in the Student Financial Services Department) are used to estimate indirect costs, based on where you will live when you attend the school.

2. We add up all of your available resources for educational costs.

These resources include:
Family financial resources
Scholarships
Federal grants and loans for which you are eligible
State grants and loans for which you are eligible
Private loans
Veterans Administration (VA) benefits
Work programs

3. We subtract all of the available resources from the total estimated cost of your education.

The difference in direct costs is the amount that can be covered through the student financial planning process.

When should I apply for financial aid?

As soon as you enroll at the school, you should apply for financial aid. To be considered for financial aid, you only have to apply for it. After you are in school, annual deadline dates will be posted.

When will I receive my financial aid?

Your Student Financial Plan provides you with a schedule for aid payments from each aid program you use. These payments are usually made in equal installments for each term in each academic year. Once you complete the Federal Stafford and FPLUS Loan applications, and authorize transfer of funds electronically, your student account is automatically credited with your loan proceeds. Other aid may be paid by a check co-payable to you or your Parent(s) and to the school. You must endorse these checks and submit them to the school.*

Financial Aid

AIU London participates in a variety of financial aid programs in the United States and the United Kingdom. U.S. citizens or eligible residents who qualify for U.S. Federal Title IV or other U.S. financial aid programs may consult an AIU Financial Aid Advisor before applying for financial aid. Students must meet all applicable eligibility requirements in order to participate.

Many employers throughout the world offer the benefit of tuition reimbursement to help students pay for their education. Students should investigate every potential option to obtain financing for their education from their home country. Each country has specific rules, eligibility requirements and availability of financial aid support.

AIU administers its financial aid programs in accordance with prevailing U.S. federal, state and local U.K. laws and its own institutional policies. Students are responsible for providing all requested documentation.

The first step in applying for U.S. financial aid is to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Once completed, your application will be processed through our Financial Aid Office. U.K. students will need to contact their local Education Authority to participate in U.K. Government programs. All information is kept confidential.

University grants or scholarships are based on established criteria as published in the University’s catalog and are awarded after verification that the conditions of eligibility have been met.

FINANCIAL AID ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Most types of financial aid are awarded based on need. Need is essentially the difference between the cost of education and the amount a family is expected to contribute toward those costs. A family’s expected contribution is determined by a standard federal formula.

To be eligible for financial aid, a CVA student must:

Be enrolled at CVA in a degree program.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Be registered with Selective Service (if you are a male).
Not be in default on any educational loan or owe a refund on any federal or state grant, and maintain satisfactory academic progress towards a degree.
Some types of financial aid may require full time enrollment. Financial aid is prorated for part-time students according to their course load. Financial aid for second degree seeking students is limited to the CVA Grant and student loans.

A student has to reapply annually for all types of financial aid. In January, new financial aid forms and applications are distributed for the next fall term. Returning students who wish to apply for aid should complete their financial aid application by April 1 for priority consideration.

APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID

STEP 1
Complete the CVA Application for Financial Aid.

STEP 2

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. CVA’s school code is 007462. If you don’t want to submit your FAFSA online, you may request a FAFSA booklet from the Financial Aid Office. Once your form is completed, please submit your form to the Financial Aid Office for processing.

If you already completed the FAFSA and didn’t include CVA as one of your college choices, call (800) 433-3243 or go on-line to www.fafsa.ed.gov to have a copy of your SAR sent to the CVA Financial Aid Office.

Your FAFSA may be selected for a process called verification. One out of every three applicants is selected for this process. If your application is selected, the CVA Financial Aid Office will contact you requesting various documents. Please note that your financial aid file will be placed in “hold” status until all the required information is received by the Financial Aid Office.

NOTE: It is recommended that you submit the FAFSA after you and/or parents, if applicable, have completed the current federal income tax forms (1040). If the tax forms are not complete, you may estimate the financial portion of the application.

STEP 3
To apply for the Federal Stafford Loan, you must complete student loan entrance counseling and complete the Federal Stafford Master Promissory Note (MPN). Both steps below can be completed at the CVA web site. You will be required to select a lender for your Stafford Loan application.
Complete the MPN online at the CVA Stafford Loan Guide Page. The MPN is a continuous promissory note that needs to be submitted only once.
Complete Stafford Loan entrance counseling online at the CVA Online Student Loan Counseling Page. Please note, some lenders may include entrance counseling as part of the MPN process.
Please print a copy of both the MPN and the Entrance Interview Confirmation for your records. If you prefer not to complete this process online, please contact the CVA Office of Financial Aid for more information on completing the paper application.

Financial Aid of Animation at American InterContinental University Georgia

AIU Buckhead goes to great lengths to ensure that every student has a financial aid package to suit their needs. Each student is provided with a dedicated Financial Aid Advisor who will personally walk them through every step of the financial aid process.

American InterContinental University participates in a variety of financial aid programs. Eligibility for Federal financial aid is based on a number of factors. Regardless of your current income level or financial need, you may still qualify for student financial aid programs that can help you finance your education.

The first step in applying for financial aid is to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Once you have been accepted for admission to the University and completed the FAFSA, a Financial Aid Advisor will work with you to determine the financial aid options that you are eligible for. At AIU, we are committed to providing the best customer service and ensuring that you feel comfortable with how you will be funding your education.

What is Financial Aid

Financial Aid is federal, state, and private funding used to assist students in funding their education. Grants and scholarships are considered “Gift Aid” which does not need to be paid back. On the other hand, loans, referred to as “Self Help” have to be paid back. Loans come with numerous repayment options and attractive interest rates. The University also offers student employment which includes federal work study positions, either on- or off- campus.

University grants or scholarships are based on established criteria as published in the University’s catalog and are awarded after verification that the conditions of eligibility have been met.

Finaid Aid of Photography at Albright College

lbright believes that students should make their enrollment decisions based on the quality of our academic and extracurricular opportunities, and on the warmth and friendliness of the Albright Community, and not on finances.

Our substantial program of financial aid provides assistance to eligible students and their families through grants, loans, and on-campus employment programs. These programs are funded through the College, the federal government, and state government.

If you feel that your family will be unable to meet the cost of an Albright education with family resources alone, you should apply for financial aid. Financial aid is awarded to students based on their family’s demonstrated financial need. Students who receive scholarships are also eligible for financial aid; in fact, most scholarship and award recipients also receive need-based financial aid.

At some colleges, admission decisions are influenced by whether an applicant applies for financial aid. Albright’s admission decisions are independent of requests for financial aid.

To apply for financial aid from Albright, you must complete only one form — the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You will provide information about your family’s income and assets on the form, which you will then send to the U.S. Department of Education. A formula set by the Federal Government is applied to these figures to determine your family’s financial strength and calculate the amount your family can contribute annually toward your educational expenses. This information is sent to you and to each college you designate to receive the information.

You may obtain a FAFSA form in guidance offices, libraries or by calling 1-800-4-FED-AID. It is available each year in November for students entering college the following fall. You should submit the form as soon as possible after January 1. You may submit your FAFSA over the internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov . In order to qualify for the full range of financial aid programs, we recommend that students complete the FAFSA by March 1.

When you complete the FAFSA, be sure to indicate that the form be sent to Albright College, code number 003229.

Financial aid awards are made after the offer of admission. You will be notified of your financial aid package two weeks after Albright receives your financial aid information from the Department of Education.

Financial aid Photography at California Institute Of The Arts

The mission of the Financial Aid Office at CalArts is to help students in meeting their costs of attendance at the institute. CalArts is committed to offering a wide range of financial assistance to its students. While the primary responsibility for meeting college costs rests with the student and the student’s family, many families have limited resources and are unable to meet the high cost of college without financial assistance. Therefore, all applicants to CalArts are encouraged to apply for financial aid. (Applying for admission and applying for financial aid are two separate processes.) International students are not eligible for federal and state assistance.

For the most part, funds made available through the Financial Aid Office are awarded on a combination of demonstrated need and artistic merit. Need is determined by completing and submitting the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid/Renewal Free Application for Federal Student Aid). CalArts also offers a few merit-only awards, however, to be eligible for these awards, you must have completed your financial aid file.

Read through this information and review the sample budgets. Know approximately what your costs will be for an academic year and draw up your own personal budget. With some early planning on your part and some assistance from our office, we know your academic year at CalArts will not only be financially possible, but a pleasant experience as well.
