The Visual Arts and New Media minor can easily be organized to complement any major. The minor may take a variety of visual and media arts courses or the courses may be in a specific area of study. Seika’s Comic Art (“story manga”) course students aim to become professional manga artists and writers. They improve their manga techniques and learn how to appeal to readers with the assistance of working manga artists.The main feature of this course is the opportunity to interact with a number of colorful and stimulating staff members who are actively producing manga work in various genres.
Students develop the vital qualities of social awareness and flexibility, plus the ability to present their work successfully. Through wide-ranging studies, this course should produce new manga artists who can pioneer a new era in comic art.
