Description:
The Photography Technology program provides graduates with entry-level employment skills in the rapidly changing professional photography field. Following a foundation year of basic photography, digital photography, and general education, art, and business courses, the second year includes specialized courses in lighting, large-format and color. Students select elective courses to help design programs that will prepare them for their individual career goals in the field of photography. The emphasis is on hands-on experience to develop both the creative ability and the technical skills essential to photography careers.

This certificate program is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level employment in careers where visual communication is the primary objective. Photographers in all disciplines may find this program appropriate for upgrading their skills.

The Visual Effects & Motion Graphics program helps you to learn how to use your creativity to produce attention-grabbing communication design for film, television, and the Web. Visual effects are responsible for movie trailers, opening film credits, television commercials, animated network identities, and short promos. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as production assistant, assistant designer, visual effect specialist, or broadcast design assistant.

In the Media Arts & Animation program, you’ll develop a strong foundation in drawing, design, and illustration in order to produce traditional 2-D formats. Then, you’ll move into computer generated 3-D formats that make characters and objects come alive. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as animator, computer animator, digital media producer, special effects artist, background designer, computer artist, layout artist, or video game artist

In the Computer Animation program, you’ll learn the skills needed to bring characters to life using computer software. Computer Animation is part acting, part storytelling, and part visual art. You’ll study methods to create realistic movement in 3-D digital environments, and collaborate within a team environment to gain practical experience. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as 3-D character animator, computer animator, modeler, and storyboarder.

In the Animation Art & Design program, you’ll learn to conceive and design 2-D and 3-D images using both traditional and digital techniques. You’ll alter, manipulate, and reconstruct characters to interact with audio and video elements. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as storyboard artist, character designer, special effects artist, background painter, clean-up artist, 3-D character animator, modeler, and video postproduction artist.

Students in the 3D Modeling for Animation & Games program prepare for their future in the computer generated animation industry through a combined focus on traditional artistic skills and modern technology.
