Photographic Imaging — Bachelor of Fine Arts

Successful photographic professionals possess an understanding of composition as well as a wide array of technical skills — from choosing the right equipment to perfecting techniques while capturing visually compelling images.

In our photography program, you’ll learn the basics of color, design, visual expression, various camera techniques and applications, digital imaging, and business practices. You’ll strive to develop a solid photographic identity, purpose, and direction.

Program graudates are prepared to seek entry-level positions such as newspaper photojournalist, studio manager, commercial photographer, editorial photographer, and photo graphic editor with advertising agencies, publishing houses, magazines, and production companies.

With Regent’s Bachelor of Arts in Animation program, you will learn the art of animation using the most technologically advanced communication facilities on the East Coast. Using cutting-edge computer and design studios and the most advanced animation software, you’ll study character and graphic design, gestures, perspective and composition under industry experts.

The B.A. in Animation major provides students with an education in art, design, and technology to develop the basic skills needed to perform the standard phases of animation: conceptualization, modeling and construction, texturing, animation, digital cinematography, and post production. The program combines traditional and digital skills.

Commercial Photography Classes & Programs

The Commercial Photography program teaches you composition, lighting, and equipment use. Darkroom techniques, color, and design are explored both on location and in a studio. You’ll develop business skills as you fine-tune your eye for detail. You will become familiar with the intricacies of photography for commercial purposes. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as technician, photographer’s assistant, digital-imaging artist, product or still-life photographer, and photo re-touch professional.

If you are keen to work with film, video and sound to produce original work for cinemas, art galleries, TV or the internet then this unique and exciting course is perfect for you.

You will learn about a range of digital and analogue film production processes including:
Super 8
16mm film
HD video
Studio techniques; multi-camera shooting, mixing and lighting
Post-production processes; sound and image editing and mixing
Script writing and planning

You will have the freedom to creatively explore the composition of sound and moving images. Alongside production and technical skills you will also develop a thorough understanding of the history and philosophy of film and video in art. The course consists of mainly self-initiated projects that help you to develop a portfolio/showreel of your own work, but you are encouraged to collaborate with the other students on the course to create opportunities to exhibit or screen your work in cinemas, galleries and online.
