Undergraduate Theatre Dance and Motion Pictures at Wright State University

The award-winning Department of Theatre, Dance, and Motion Pictures is devoted exclusively to the training and education of undergraduates in the areas of dance, motion pictures, and theatre. Bachelor of Arts degrees are offered in motion picture history, theory and criticism, and theatre studies. The professional Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is offered in dance; motion picture production; acting; acting musical theatre; and design, technology, and stage management.
Admission to the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree programs in dance, motion picture production, acting and acting musical theatre is highly selective. Students should consult with Victoria Oleen in the Department of Theatre, Dance, and Motion Pictures at (937) 775-3072 for degree specifics and entrance requirements. Early inquiry is encouraged. Auditions may be required.
Continuation for students in all of the theatre arts degrees is based on peer and faculty reviews at the end of each year of study.

Minor in Photography at Georgia College & State University

Fifteen hours with grades of C or better, distributed as follows: (minimum of 9 hours must be upper division)

All Studio Minors are required to complete ARTS 1000 or ARTS 1200 before enrolling in Minor classes.

Art majors may not count courses required in Area F toward a minor offered in the Department of Art. The Art major must take additional 3000-4000 level courses to complete the minor program. The academic advisor and department chair must approve these courses.

Art History courses taken in fulfillment of the minor may not be applied towards any of the major requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, Fine Art, Museum Studies, or Art History.

Bachelor of Arts Photography at Charles Sturt University

Photography subjects include digital and analogue photography, digital imaging, lighting, imaging theories and techniques, and photography workshops and projects.

Graphic Design subjects include digital technology and design, desktop publishing and typology, digital design, design for industry, experimental design, advertising, and competitive design and professional practice work.

Students also undertake a sequence of contextual subjects in history and theory.
Graduation requirements

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 240 points (27 subjects) in order to meet the requirements of each of the constituent degrees. Upon completion of the program, students graduate with two awards, the Bachelor of Arts (Photography) and the Bachelor of Arts (Graphic Design).

Photography BA BFA at Barry University

Barry University’s undergraduate photography program is designed to immerse you in the field. While many other schools offer an Art degree with supplemental photography courses, we feel that a dedicated degree in Photography will offer you a greater depth of knowledge and experience. You will have the opportunity to focus solely on photography, or elect more art courses if you wish to add a more diversified education in other mediums. You can choose between the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and the Bachelor of Arts degree, and your academic advisor will assist you in choosing the electives that will prepare you to meet your personal and professional goals. Traditional and Digital

As you compare programs from different universities, you may find that many schools are shutting down their darkrooms to concentrate solely on digital photography. Barry is committed to maintaining the tradition of film and the darkroom, while offering the latest advances in the digital medium. You will have the opportunity to explore and experiment, combining vintage techniques with cutting-edge digital technology to achieve hybrid results. We believe that there is no need for us to choose one over the other; they’re both complimentary components of photography. As such, you can choose to focus on either one, or both.
Experienced Faculty

Barry’s Department of Fine Arts is dynamic and not oversized. All Photography faculty are exhibiting artists and very active in their field. Their diverse backgrounds and styles lead to diversity of thought within the department. You will receive individualized attention and learn from professional artists, as we do not hire student teaching assistants as faculty.
Small Classes

As a photography major you will have access to the facilities seven days a week, and class are capped at reasonable sizes to ensure that you receive individualized attention. Your opportunities are limited only by your own degree of motivation.

The Department of Visual Arts and New Media provides a balanced, comprehensive undergraduate program in the practice, theory, and history of the visual arts and new media. The department offers both majors and elective students an opportunity to experience the arts as an important and enriching facet of a liberal arts education. Whether the goal is a career or advanced study in the arts and new media, or simply a greater understanding of art and technology’s cultural impact, the curriculum offers a dynamic mix of studios, lectures, and seminars. The program provides a comprehensive foundation of design skills and conceptual approaches to visual expression. Visual Arts and New Media majors study an interdisciplinary curriculum emphasizing the concepts, theories, design, aesthetics and skills that inform all visual arts, including those involving electronic mediated expression. Students may receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History or in Visual Arts and New Media or a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is available with majors in Ceramics, Drawing, Graphic Design, Illustration*, Media Arts, Painting, Photography or Sculpture.

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Art History offers a wide variety of courses ranging from ancient times to the 20th century. The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Visual Arts and New Media degree is a balanced, comprehensive overview of the range of creative and career possibilities in different media, with the added benefit of incorporating an interdisciplinary pedagogy within a traditional liberal arts curriculum. Both of these degree options, more general than the Bachelor of Fine Art (B.F.A.), provide an excellent grounding for students interested in dual majors or graduate studies in areas such as secondary education, art therapy, imaging technologies in the visual arts, advertising and marketing, public relations or arts administration.

The Bachelor of Fine Art (B.F.A.) in specific majors emphasizes the range of skills, theories and media necessary for the development of the designer or creative artist. The creative process, from inception to presentation, is emphasized. This degree option fosters intellectual and creative curiosity, critical aesthetic thinking, encourages fusion between different artistic disciplines, and extensive use and evaluation of current technologies. Visual design is of great importance, but equal consideration is given to the concept and context. The historical relationship between an extensive range of media, and the impact of interaction on those media, are thoroughly explored. Critical awareness, and the ability for self-evaluation, is encouraged and developed. Visual Arts and New Media students may apply after completing a minimum of 27 credit hours in the Visual Arts and New Media courses for a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in a specialized major.

Animation Bachelor at Ohlone College

With Regent’s Bachelor of Arts in Animation program, you will learn the art of animation using the most technologically advanced communication facilities on the East Coast. Using cutting-edge computer and design studios and the most advanced animation software, you’ll study character and graphic design, gestures, perspective and composition under industry experts.

The B.A. in Animation major provides students with an education in art, design, and technology to develop the basic skills needed to perform the standard phases of animation: conceptualization, modeling and construction, texturing, animation, digital cinematography, and post production. The program combines traditional and digital skills.
