CLASS ATTENDANCE AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR TEST AND PROJECT SUBMISSION

An 80% attendance is compulsory and non-negotiable. Students must write a minimum of 80% of all theory tests and submit at least 80% of all practical assignments/projects. (Medical certificates will only be taken into account for the other 20%).

Minimum attendance
Due to the practical nature of the classes offered, students must attend a minimum of 80% of lectures to gain admission to the examination, unless special leave is granted.

REQUIREMENTS: PROMOTION TO NEXT STUDY LEVEL AND RE-ADMISSION OF SENIOR STUDENTS

Students who have passed only 50% or less of their modules may not take modules at the next level, until a pass mark has been obtained for all outstanding modules.
Students who have passed more than 50% of their modules may only take modules at the next level subject to the following provisos:
They must register for all failed modules first;
Registration for the next level of a module is subject to the availability of relevant staff and/or space on the timetable.
Certain modules are linked in terms of content and coursework and cannot be registered for independently. For this reason, the registration of all offerings at the next level of study must be done with discretion and in consultation with the Head of Department and relevant module specialists and/or student counsellors.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF PREREQUISITE MODULES

The Head of Department (with the support of the Faculty Management Committee) has the right to refuse a student the right to register for any module at the next level for any academic reason not covered by the above clauses.

ACADEMIC PROGRESS
A student must show satisfactory progress in his/her assignments and tests. The Faculty Management Committee reserves the right to bar a student who is making unsatisfactory progress from examinations or to bar him/her from classes or to terminate a student’s studies.
Except where otherwise specified, a sub-minimum of 40% in the course mark, for each module, is required for admission to the final examination.
Students whose academic progress is unsatisfactory, or with an unsatisfactory attendance record will receive up to a maximum of three written warnings after which they may be asked to leave the qualification.

Photography Admission Requirements at Concordia University Montreal

In general, the qualification for admission consideration is the level of secondary education required to apply for university studies in the home province, state or country. In addition, various programs require prerequisite courses (profiles). For example, applicants to the Bachelor of/Baccalaureate in Science, Engineering or Computer Science programs should have senior secondary school courses in mathematics and other sciences. Those applying to the Bachelor of/Baccalaureate in Commerce or Administration degrees require a background in mathematics. Other programs (e.g. visual or performing arts, journalism, creative writing, etc.) require portfolios, interviews, and/or letters of intent.
For full details on program prerequisites, grade requirements and availability, you should refer to the Admission Requirements of the specific programs.

The following qualifications are the minimums required for consideration and do not guarantee admission to the University or its programs.
Canada
Alberta – Grade 12
British Columbia – Grade 12 with four provincially examinable courses
Manitoba – Grade 12
New Brunswick – Grade 12
Newfoundland – Grade 12
Northwest Territories – Grade 12
Nova Scotia – Grade 12
Ontario – Secondary School Diploma with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses
Prince Edward Island – Grade 12
Quebec – Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC)
Saskatchewan – Grade 12
Yukon – Grade 12

All applicants must have completed appropriate Grade 12, U or M academic subjects. They must also have Grade 12 or U English or French, if graduated from French school. Applicants to programs that require prerequisite courses in mathematics and sciences are expected to have completed these courses at the Grade 12 level (in the case of Ontario, at the U level).

For students with the International Baccalaureate, see the International Admission Requirements.
Program Length

Because students in the province of Quebec must complete a minimum of 13 years of study prior to entering university, the duration of a regular degree program is normally three years (90 credits). The Bachelor of/Baccalaureate in Engineering, Bachelor of/Baccalaureate in Arts (Early Childhood and Elementary Education), Bachelor of/Baccalaureate in Education (TESL), and Bachelor of/ Baccalaureate in Fine Arts (Specialization in Art Education) degree programs are four years (120 credits) in length.

Graduates of secondary schools outside the province of Quebec may be considered for admission to the Extended Credit Program at Concordia. The ECP requires completion of 30 credits in addition to the regular degree program. The duration of a degree program is normally four years. The BEng degree, the BA, Early Childhood and Elementary Education Program, the BEd, TESL and the BFA, Art Education will generally require five years of full‑time study to complete.
