KCPA 212 – Spatial Painting – 3 Credits
Prerequisites: KCPA 120
Using the architectural interior as primary subject matter, spatial painting reinforces the techniques learned in Introduction to Painting to give the student the ability to deepen pictorial space. Reviews basic color mixing and paint handling, including chemistry and physical properties of oil paint. Reviews linear perspective as it applies to architectural space. Initial projects stress development of picture space through aerial perspective using contrasts of edge, value and color.
