Evolution of NCUE

1971
was called Taiwan Provincial College of Education. (TPCE)
Only 3 departments within TPCE.
1980
was renamed as the National Taiwan College of Education. (NTCE)
put under the direct governance of the Ministry of Education.
1989
was renamed again as National Changhua University of Education. (NCUE)
9 departments within 3 colleges.
2000
The college of Arts was founded
2002
Engineering and College of Business was founded.
2004
College of Social Science and Physical Education was created.
2005
There are 7 colleges, with 20 undergraduate programs, 36 master programs and 13 PhD programs within NCUE.
Campus Life

The Office of Student Affairs offers services for our students covering every aspect of campus life. In other words, our services reach every aspect of our students’ life on campus, including helping our students achieve maturity independently, establishing sound development of clubs and extracurricular activities, enhancing gender education, activating life guidance, and maintaining campus safety.

1. NCUE has two campuses: the Jin-De Campus and the Bao-Shan Campus, both of which provide all sorts of facilities for advanced study. In addition, there are plenty of places for recreation, including all the large-sized lawns in the recreational areas as well as a number of scenic sections, which teachers and students are all welcome to use.

2. The Activity Center is the place for the activities and working of student clubs and organizations. There are a Student Performance Theater (with a lounge, a karaoke bar, and a stage), an auditorium, and a plaza. All students are welcome to enjoy themselves in their leisure time in this place.

3. NCUE has one gymnasium, tennis courts, track and field facilities, basketball courts, one softball field, one soccer pitch, and volleyball courts, etc. Some are in the Jin-De Campus and others are in the Bao-Shan Campus.

4. Both the Jin-De Campus and the Bao-Shan Campus have student cafeterias, which serve clean and healthy food for our teachers and students. The restaurants nearby the campuses also offer food of the Chinese or the western style.

Location & Transportation

The two campuses of NCUE are 51.1 hectare in total:
Ⅰ.Jin-De Campus, 24.9 hectare, is located at the edge of downtown Changhua City, about seven-minute drive to the train station.
Jin-De Campus Bao-Shan Campus

Address: No. 1, Jin-De Road, Changhua City.

Ⅱ.Bao-Shan Campus, 26.2 hectare, is located on Mountain Ba-Gua, where people can have a good view of the whole Changhua City. The College of Engineering, College of Management, and College of Technology and Vocational Education are located in this campus. There also are the branch of the library of NCUE and dormitories.

The buildings and space of the two campuses are all specially designed to provide students with a good environment for personal cultivation.

The international students qualified for being admitted to National Changhua University of Education are those who are not nationals of the Republic of China as stipulated by the Nationality Act, Article Two, and do not hold the identity as overseas Chinese students. But those who originally held ROC nationality will not be eligible to apply within eight years of the Ministry of the Interior’s permit of losing it. The said eight years are calculated till the date of the applied academic year begins.

According to cultural cooperation agreement, foreign nationals screened and recommended by their governments, institutions, schools, and cultural and educational communities to study in Taiwan are not restricted by the said provisions.

Application forms and fees must be submitted before April 30 each year. Each applicant is permitted to make one choice on departments / graduate institutes. Late applications may be processed in the following academic year upon request.
